Minivan safety...

So, you may think that minivans are actually pretty safe, because people transport their kids with minivans. However, recent data by the IIHS has shown otherwise. The Toyota Sienna, one of the best selling minivans in the US, earned an Acceptable on the driver side small overlap crash test, and a Marginal on the passenger side. I think this is mostly because minivans are just a stretched version of a large car or SUV, therefore where the driver is actually sitting is the front of the frame. Therefore the car offers the driver no protection in the event of a crash. However, this is yet to be confirmed, so I want to find a way to confirm it in the future. So far, only the Honda Odyssey has Good ratings for the front driver, passenger side small overlap tests, moderate overlap tests, side, roof, seat tests.
